Wow! Punk Science is an extraordinary journey from the microcosm of the atom to the macrocosm of the Universe and all stops in between. Manjir Samanta-Laughton's synthesis of cosmology and consciousness is sheer genius. It is elegant, simple and, as an added bonus, makes great reading.
Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D. Cell biologist and best selling author of The Biology of Belief
A work of great synthesis and originality that places consciousness in the centre and puts the soul back into science. By moving beyond the 'perception horizon' of modern science, the author combines insight with evidence to formulate her Black Hole Principle where dark matter contains the light of higher dimensions and the masculine and feminine principles work together. Prepare to have your ideas turned inside out.
David Lorimer, author and director of the Scientific and Medical Network
A deep provocative synthesis of science and religion with a message that unifies the heart, mind and soul. A timely book essential for healing and inspiring our inner and outer being as well as the receptive cultures across the planet. It takes quantum physics to a new and grander level and brings meaning to the very fabric of our daily existence.
Dr John F. Demartini best selling author of The Breakthrough Experience and star of The Secret Reviews
Punk Science is an
invigorating, enlightening read for any of us who are fascinated with
quantum physics but are not quantum physicists ourselves. Dr. Manjir
Samanta-Laughton, M.D., asks us to reconsider some of the 20th-century
dogma about such things as the Big Bang and black holes, hyperspace and
dark matter, and she backs up each concept with solid documentation and
footnotes. The Reiki Digest
Here is a book that
presents a picture of the universe as a braid woven out of science and
mysticism. The age-old concept of animism, of consciousness inherent in
the whole natural world, is given new life and is the cornerstone of
the argument. The idea of consciousness creating matter recalls George
Berkeley’s view that existence depends on perception... With examples
taken from biology, physics and cosmology Dr Samanta-Laughton shows how
the phenomena recorded by science can be interpreted in terms of a
unifying spirituality working through the quantum vacuum. Complex
notions like the holographic principle, hyperspace and superstring
theory are presented in accessible style. Explanations are provided for
knotty scientific problems like the origin of life, the nature of
mental illness and the influence of mind on machines, and there are
interpretations of chakras, spirit guides and angels that are outside
the currently accepted paradigm of science. The author has derived her
inspiration both from the Gnostic gospels and from her own mystical
experience...the book is presented in a highly readable and witty
fashion that carries the reader forward, waiting for the next
revelation. Howard Jones, author of The Thoughtful Guide to God
An easy-to-read history and explanation of quantum physics,
together with its relationship to cosmology, ancient esoteric
teachings, and even part of life itself. Highly recommended as an
important spiritual book which will resonate with all enquiring
healers, and others. Healing Today
Editor's Choice; This is nothing less than an
amazing book. It will be unsettling and troubling for those who need an
old fashioned, mechanical-reductionist view of things and people as
being separate; but for those of who know or suspect that everything is
really joined and that ll are really one, this confirms and underpins
that awareness. And it is not "New Age" at all, but a work of popular
science-only, the science is teling us things known by ancient and
modern mystics, and now being rediscovered by the latest research and
theoretical work at the cutting edge of physics, cosmology, brain and
neuroscience explorations, and consciousness investigations. This one
brings together everything from mediumship to black holes. Outstanding
and a must read. Odyssey Magazine
A meticulously researched, cogently argued treatise on the state
of modern science. Punk Science brings spirituality and science
together and it does so convincingly. A refreshing, enjoyable and
admirable read. thge book is attracting attention and causing debate.
Who knows, maybe in ten years' time, her world view will be the norm
and the current model will appear as outdated as the idea that the Sun
revolves around the Earth. Paradigm Shift This is one of the most creative and brilliant advances in science and spirituality ever written. I experience this book as one of the top five creative syntheses I have personally read in my professional and personal life. Professor Gary Schwartz, University of Arizona What an amazing book...Congratulations on a mind expanding masterpiece.Christine Page MD
When
was the last time you sat under a tree and let your mind go, marveling
at the wonder of it all? Punk Science was born of such an experience,
in which the author sat in an oak tree and attempted to feel the
rotation of the earth. “Suddenly,” he
says, “I was thrust into an infinity of spinning orbs. In a moment that
seemed to transcend space and time,“… I understood what I now call the
Black Hole Principle. All the pieces of information I had been studying
suddenly fitted together into a framework that is elegant and simple,
but also allows for infinite, emergent complexity. This vision has
formed the basis for this book and is nothing less than a new view of
the cosmos.” Pretty
powerful claim, that. And all this from a medical doctor with a passion
for putting his vision to work to offer physicists a framework big
enough to hold the all-too-familiar details they wrestle with on a
daily basis. The early pages launch the
conversation on which the book hinges: is consciousness a result of
chemical (and perhaps other) processes, or is it the other way around?
Moving right into string theory and M-theory, he lays a layman-friendly
foundation for seeing things in the latter light. “We
have gone as far as we can with the material paradigm,” he asserts. And
then he asks, “Is anybody making those giant leaps of consciousness
that have always taken us forward in science? … We need people who
firmly understand that consciousness is fundamental to the universe:
people who know that the universe is intelligent, because they
experience it as such. Like Pythagoras, Newton and Faraday, they have
the skill of merging their consciousness with the universe in order to
gain insights into its workings.” Let me
not give the impression he favors throwing the scientific method
overboard. No, it has its place. But that place, he argues, is
after-the-fact—once we have the vision, we must, as Einstein and others
did, use mathematics and experimentation to support or disprove it. I
found the book an enjoyable and stimulating read. Of course, it
probably helped that I agreed with him from the outset. I learned a few
wonderful things and found that the book left me more able to converse
about what's going on in physics, which in turn brought its own share
of enjoyment. If you like to feel'“in the know” without having to
puzzle things out too much, you may enjoy it too. The Light Connection
Now this little gem really got me thinking. Within it's 324 pages
were the most interesting concepts I have come across in a long time.
The format is very unique and because of the laid back yet direct style
of the writer I was able to see things in a whole new light. I saw
phrases like "three dimensional reality", and "the black hole
principle", that really got my head to spinning. Thank God for the
diagrams and charts throughout that brought much needed clarity at just
the right time. I would recommend this wise and eye-opening find to
anyone serious about expanding their spiritual horizons. Thanks Dr. for
a wonderful and very intense read. Mystic Living E-zine Probably the best book out there in its genre. Regina Meredith, Conscious Media Network
